Albuquerque, New Mexico might not be known as mecca for tourists and travelers, but it should be. The city is home to interesting attractions of all shapes and sizes, which make it an awesome choice for a weekend away—or a longer stay.

The Albuquerque area boasts some postcard-worthy natural beauty, from amazing mountains to majestic mesas. The region’s scenery can enjoyed in a number of ways, but we advise checking out the local hiking trails, hopping on the Sandia Peak Tramway, or trying out one of the city’s famous hot air balloon tours.
Albuquerque is an awesome choice for history buffs. Within the city limits, you’ll find the famed Petroglyph National Monument, a number of interesting museums, and Albuquerque’s historic Old Town. You’ll leave smarter!
Breaking Bad Tours
Albuquerque was the primary filming location of Breaking Bad, which is widely considered one of the greatest TV shows of all time. As such, a number of companies offer awesome Breaking Bad tours, stopping at locations like Walter White’s house, the car wash, and Saul Goodman’s law office. One tour company even carts passengers around in a Breaking Bad-inspired RV—crystal meth fumes not included!
Albuquerque is home to a long list of fantastic dining and drinking options, such as ONI, Seared Bistro Albuquerque, Artichoke Café, Mary and Tito’s Café, and Antiquity Restaurant—all of which are very well reviewed on Google and Yelp. You certainly won’t leave the city hungry!
An MMA Hotbed
Albuquerque might not be home to any major sports teams, but it’s an absolute hotbed for mixed martial arts talent. The city is the home of the famed Jackson-Wink MMA gym, which has produced UFC superstars like Jon Jones, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Carlos Condit, and Diego Sanchez—all of whom still live in the city. You never know who you might run into during your stay!
