Grab your favorite hipster hat and a pair of sequined short shorts, Coachella is a month away! After two long years, the music festival is back. Hosted at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, Coachella will take place over the weekends of April 15-17 and April 22-24.
The festival is expected to operate at full capacity, meaning it could see pre-pandemic levels of attendance—up to 250,000 people. And with this year’s lineup, tickets are hot.
If you’re planning a trip to Coachella in April, here are the acts you need to see.
The prince of pop and former boy-bander Harry Styles is headlining the first day of Coachella. Since splitting from One Direction, Styles has spent his time acting in major films, like Dunkirk and The Eternals. Oh, and he’s managed to pump out a handful of chart toppers. Look forward to some Watermelon Sugar on Coachella’s Friday night.
At 20 years old, Eilish is the youngest headliner ever at Coachella. She’ll take to the stage on Saturday to drop some of her husky, feminist-empowered hits, like Your Power, Bad Guy, and Happier Than Ever. Plus, Eilish’s older brother Finneas is scheduled to perform on the Sunday at Coachella—that’s a talented family!
Kanye West will be closing out Coachella as the Sunday headliner. West, who legally changed his name to Ye in October 2021 (feels like a Snoop Lion situation) last performed at Coachella in 2011. Expect to see Ye accompanied by his gospel choir for a Sunday Service performance.
Swedish House Mafia
The Swedish DJ group first entered the mainstream back in 2012 with hits like Don’t You Worry Child and Greyhound. But they’d been pretty quiet until their recent collaboration with The Weeknd, Moth To A Flame. There’s been little word on when Swedish House Mafia will be performing but based on the order of billing, fans are speculating that the group could either be performing on Sunday at the same time as Ye or after him.
It doesn’t quite feel right lumping these top tier talents into one category, but there are so many solid performers that this list could easily turn into a novel. Here are the other acts you need to check out.
