Coachella, one of the world’s most popular music festivals, will make a triumphant return in 2022.
The festival has been out of our lives since 2019 due to the pandemic. It was initially slated to return in April of 2020, but that regrettably was pushed back to October, and then further to April 2021. Unfortunately, it was then canceled outright.
The good news is that it is finally slated to return to the Coachella Valley over the course of two weekends in early 2022: April 15-17 and 22-24.
Coachella is known for featuring some of the biggest names in music. Before it was canceled, the last event was slated to be headlined by Rage Against The Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean, and bolstered by performances from the likes of Lil Nas X, Calvin Harris and Megan Thee Stallion. The festival is also known for drawing massive crowds, with roughly 250,000 people attending in recent years.
In other news, Stagecoach, a popular country music festival hosted in the same setting, is also on track to return in 2022. It’s expected to occur later in the same month, and is likely to draw a massive crowd in its own right, with as many as 70,000 people attending in recent years.
While most festival-goers are disappointed that events like Coachella and Stagecoach have been on hiatus during the pandemic, it’s great to hear that so many of them will soon be back in our lives—and let’s not forget: absence makes the heart grow fonder! Festivals like Coachella are unforgettable under any circumstances. Imagine how special they’ll feel after a two-year break.
