Madison Square Garden is home to concerts, sporting events and more. But what if you arrive early for the big event? Or, what if you don’t want to go home right away afterwards?
If you’ve got a decent amount of time to kill, check out one of the area’s more distinctive museums: the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and the Museum of Sex. At the FIT museum, you can learn about the history of fashion, from corsets to Gothic clothing. The exhibits are constantly changing, so you’ll always see something new.
The Museum of Sex makes for a pretty fascinating visit (as long as you’re over 18!). Exhibits often include erotic artwork and photographs with stories behind them.
Weather permitting, we’d recommend going for a stroll in one of the nearby parks. Chelsea Park offers a nice dose of green space where you can play frisbee or handball, as well as basketball courts. High Line Park also makes for a beautiful and unique stroll. The park is built on an elevated railroad track and showcases contemporary artwork.
