Toronto is a stunning city with some amazing views— so why not take advantage of it for your social media? If you’re looking for beautiful backdrops and vibrant art to feature on your Instagram, look no further than these locations.
1. Toronto Harbour
In downtown Toronto, just a few steps away from Toronto Island Park, is Toronto Harbour. Gazing out at the picturesque view, you’ll see the Toronto skyline — complete with the ultimate landmark, the CN Tower — above the brilliantly blue water. It’s the perfect spot to snap a pic, whether it’s day or night.
2. Calii Love Angel Mural, Yorkville
Boldly brushed on the exterior wall of wellness eatery Calii Love are a pair of stunning angel wings. Painted by local artist Sarah Skrlj, the wings stretch out in shades of pink, blue, and white against the vibrant turquoise wall. The location also features a cactus mural and a pink wall with a collection of colorfully painted balloons. If you’ve ever wanted to pose for a picture as a heavenly being, well— this is your best bet!
3. Riverdale Park
Grab a picnic blanket and settle in at this expansive park by the Don River. The hilly area will allow you to get a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline above a collection of trees and a large swath of greenery. Pro tip: the view is even more stunning at sunset!
4. June Callwood Park, Niagara
Tucked between Bastion Street and Gzowski Boulevard in downtown Toronto, this area is better known as Pink Park for its vibrant pink play area. While it’s meant for kids, it’s also an incredible place to take some perfect pink pictures.
5. Sugar Beach, Old Toronto
This beautiful beach is located by Toronto Harbour in downtown Toronto (you could get two locations in one!). With warm sand, blue skies, and pretty pink umbrellas, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to an island location— and so will your followers when you post pictures from there! Alternatively, you could take a beach pic with the city view in the background.
6. Graffiti Alley, Fashion District
South of Queen Street, running from Spadina Ave to Portland Street, is Toronto’s famous Graffiti Alley. With a variety of colorful murals lining the walls, you’ll have many backdrops to pose against when you travel down this alley. Stop by the vibrant ocean mural or the Terminator-inspired graffiti for some wicked shots!
7. Sanko Trading Co. Mural, West Queen West
Outside of a beloved Japanese grocery and kitchen store on Queen Street is an explosively bright mural that stretches across the entire left side of the building. Fish swim in and out of multicolored seaweed that seems to be falling from a flower-filled bush at the top of the wall. Further left, the mural gets even more eccentric, with birdlike beings crossing a bridge and sitting on colorful lines. This eclectic collaboration between a variety of artists is a great place to take a variety of photos!
8. Casa Loma
This massive castle-turned-museum is a great place to explore Toronto history— and snap a few pics while you’re at it! The castle itself is a beautiful monument to Gothic Revival and Scottish baronial architecture, and the castle grounds are equally lovely. You can pose by the fountain out front, or grab a bite at the castle’s onsite restaurant, The Gardens, where you can have a patio dining experience like no other and take some photos to prove it!
9. The Distillery District
With 13 acres of pedestrian-only streets and cute boutiques, Old Toronto’s Distillery District offers a variety of photo opportunities. You can pick from the red heart sculpture (one of the most popular Instagrammed spots), the sculpture of locks that reads “LOVE,” any of the vibrantly painted trees, and more! If the district’s artistry and sculptures aren’t your vibe, the heritage buildings and cobblestone streets will provide a charming background for your photos.
10. The Cameron House Mural, Alexandra Park
This live music venue at Queen and Spadina is paradise— or so its mural declares. A favorite among Toronto locals, the mural reads “THIS IS PARADISE” both right-side up and upside-down, giving you options for your Instagram feed. The vibrant yellow and teal paint brings a sunny vibe to the mural, making it feel accurate.
