The structure has a lower level sunk 16 feet below sea level with a master suite, bathroom, and lounge. InterContinental Shimao Wonderland (Shanghai, China)
If you prefer modern accommodations, then the InterContinental Shimao Wonderland may be the right choice for you. Atkins Design built the futuristic, luxury accommodations into the side of a quarry.
The 370-room hotel includes two underwater levels consisting of a restaurant and guest rooms. There is also an artificial waterfall on site, which almost looks natural. In addition, the hotel has a large sports center, where guests can participate in water and outdoor sports such as bungee jumping, rock climbing and parasailing.
You may also be pleased to know that the hotel is eco-conscious, with most of its energy coming from renewable sources such as solar and geothermal.
Manta Resort (Tanzania)
If you’re looking for privacy, look no further than the Manta Resort in Tanzania. The resort is a floating glass cube on the Indian Ocean, off of Pemba Island on the Zanzibar archipelago.
