The East Coast offers some breathtaking views, but instead of burning gas money chugging along the I-95, why not pay $29 to take an Auto Train? If you book by March 4, Amtrak is offering major discounts on southbound Auto Train service from Lorton, Va., near Washington, D.C., to Sanford, Fla, near Orlando. You can even load your vehicle on the train for an extra cost.

To be eligible for the discount, the trip must be booked between March 7 and June 30, but there are no blackout dates, so any day within those four months is fair game.

For $29, you’ll secure a spot in coach with a reclining seat, a complimentary continental breakfast, and free WiFi. If you’re looking for a little more privacy, Amtrak is also offering temporary deals on its roomettes and bedrooms.

For $129, you’ll get a private roomette with bedding, pillows, towels, and linens, a complimentary attendant, a chef-prepared dinner with wine, and a continental breakfast. If you’re feeling really fancy, purchase a private bedroom ticket for $329. It offers all the same amenities but double the space.

The trip from Lorton to Sanford is non-stop and takes approximately 17 hours and 30 minutes. If you do decide to take your vehicle, the Auto Train can accommodate cars, vans, SUVs, motorcycles, and even small boats. You can pack any extra luggage in your vehicle’s trunk, so you don’t have to worry about it until you arrive in Florida.

For those feeling eco-conscious, by taking the Auto Train, Amtrak reports that you’re helping to take 95 million miles traveled off the I-95 each year. Since train service produces 83% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than driving, it’s a nice way to travel sustainably.
